2009 D. Herlocker Memorial Bachman Valley Half Marathon

Training for a fall marathon? Join us in running the Bachman Valley Half Marathon, a perfect 13.1-mile training run for your fall marathon along the rolling, scenic countryside of Carroll County. This race is part of the Maryland RRCA Grand Prix Series.

Awards

TBD (probably Overall 1-3, Masters 1-2 & Age-group awards weighted by the number of participants in each age-group from the past 9 years)

Race-day registration for WRRC/FF/ERR members, $10

Race-day registration for NON-members, $15

Information for race-day

Race-day registration & packet pickup: 6:30-7:45 am

Start: 8:00 am SHARP

Tshirts: A VERY limited supply of race shirts will be SOLD on raceday; the cost of the shirts are NOT included in your registration fee. Long-sleeve shirts will be sold for $10.

Course: The course starts and stops at Bachman Valley Farms; it travels along rolling country roads and provides great scenery. It is NOT a flat course. Here's the race course at MapMyRun.com.

Water stops: will be provided on the course in at least 5 locations

Results: will be posted at the race, as well as on the WRRC website. A post-race article will also be posted on TriStateRunnur.

Directions

Address: 475 Old Bachmans Valley Rd, Westminster, MD 21157

From Baltimore Beltway (about 45 min.): Rt. 695 West, exit onto Rt. 795 West to Rt. 140 through Westminster. Exit onto Rt. 97 North. At the second stoplight turn right on Magna Way, travel about 1.5 miles, Bachman Valley Farms will be on the left.

From DC/Northern VA: Rt. 95 or 295 to the Baltimore Beltway West (Rt. 695) and follow directions above.

From western Northern VA: Rt. 495 East to Rt. 185 North to Rt. 97 North which will dead end at Rt. 140 in Westminster. Turn left onto Rt. 140. Travel through 5 stoplights on Rt. 140 and exit right onto Rt. 97 North. At second stoplight turn right on Magna Way, travel about 1.5 miles, Bachman Valley Farms will be on the left.
