Teen Expo 5K & 1-mile Run/Walk, 11 April 2009.
Great turnout despite typical 'spring' weather.
The first annual Teen Expo Run was a success, as it drew a large field of runners (many of whom were Dave Griffin's Flying Fleet runners) despite the downpour and cooler temperature. Money raised from the race went to support a local family who is facing substantial cancer-treatment bills. All runners received early entrance into the Teen Expo.
Thanks to all of the volunteers. And job well-done to the highly motivated (first-time) race director, Christine Webbert, and co-director, Beth Merz. Thanks also to the CC Sheriff's Department for providing officers to direct traffic and ensure the safety of our runners and volunteers!
