Predicted Time 4-miler, 5 March 2005 Leatherman
Edges Gosnell in Predicted Time Run Poulos, who has run in recent years run in as many as two hundred races in one year, and Shriver, a graduate of Francis Scott Key, pulled away from the pack of fifteen early in the race and maintained their positions throughout the race. Poulos finished with a nearly ninety second margin over Shriver. In third place was Bob Leatherman, whose predicted time of 28:00 was a mere three seconds faster than his predicted time of 27:57. While Tim Gosnell finished three seconds faster than his predicted time, the tie-breaker in these cases goes to the runner with the fastest actual time. Also finishing in the top five were Joe Loveland and James Moreland, who also finished as fourth and fifth in actual positions. Finishing tied for fifth were Liuda Galinaitis and Chris Reese, who predicted the same finishing time and ran together for the whole distance. This year's prizes were Sara Lee cakes and pies and frozen buffalo products. When Leatherman and Gosnell finished, only the buffalo remained. It was only fitting that Liuda and Chris split a package of buffalo hot dogs, since that was the only food prize which could be easily split.
