St. Onge outkicks Sinclair in Low-Key 5KWeek at Galloway running camp bodes Grand Master well by Kevin Spradlin Race Director: Liuda GalinaitisUNION MILLS, July 14 -- Less than a week after returning from a Jeff Galloway running camp in Lake Tahoe, Calif., 52-year-old Gary St. Onge used his same old tactic of "slow start, fast finish" to outkick Baltimore's Chris Sinclair in the Men's Low-Key 5K at the Union Mills Homestead. St. Onge, of Westminster, hit the first mile in 6:26 with Sinclair and Kevin Spradlin trailing. St. Onge and Company hit the orange cone at the 1.5-mile turnaround in 10:10. Spradlin surged ahead for a few meters on the downhill return, only to be overtaken by both runners once the road flattened around. St. Onge and Sinclair paired together for the remaining mile, with St. Onge taking the lead for good just before the left turn onto the main road heading back towards the pavilion. St. Onge finished in 19:09, with Sinclair drawing back to a 19:30. Spradlin finished with a post-high school best 19:50.
