Gilbert grabs FallFest 5K victoryEsposito first female to cross finish lineby Kevin Spradlin, WRRCWESTMINSTER, 9/30 -- Cory Gilbert averaged just under 6:20 per mile to win the inaugural Westminster FallFest 5K victory, crossing the finish line in 18 minutes, 55 seconds. Runner-up Dave Hope finished in 19:21. While the Westminster High Cross Country team volunteered to man the water stations and finish line, Owls coaches Dave Cox and Sarah Ensor competed. Cox, second in the Union Mills 8K earlier this month, finished fourth overall in 19:37. Ensor was 12th overall and the third female, settling for a time of 25:27. Salisbury State University runner Sherry Esposito, who won her age group in the WRRC's summer Twilight Series Short Series, was the first female. Esposito finished the race in 20:35, good for sixth place overall.
