LOOKING BACK

May 13 (Tuesday) Debbie Royer, Labrador raiser-trainer, shared her experiences starting 6-week-old puppies, then working with them for 75 to 80 weeks in hopes that they grow into Guide Dogs for the Guiding Eyes for the Blind . ....Chicken parmesan, pasta and rolls were prepared by Original Pizza owner, Angelo. We provided salad, cookies and ice cream. The meeting was held at the Community Center due to the presence of Guide Dog “Iron”.

May 17 (Saturday) Art Show at Francis Scott Key High School...five of the six Lions Clubs surrounding F S K (Taneytown, Terra Rubra, Sulphur Springs, Harney and Union Bridge) sponsor this annual event featuring the ‘best art of the month’ competing for ’best art of the year’. Cash prizes ranging from $10 to $100 are awarded on each of the three levels----elementary, middle and high school. All competing art was on display in the FSK High School cafeteria Saturday, May 17, from 1 PM to 7 PM. (Union Bridge Lion Paul Lynch chairs this event.)

May 23/24 (Friday/Saturday) White Cane Days---Union Bridge Lions asked for donations to the Maryland Eye Bank, 9AM Friday through 9 PM Saturday. Over $345 was collected in front of Myers Grocery store. Thanks!

May 26--31 (Monday-Saturday) U B Firemen’s Carnival--Union Bridge Lions sold ride tickets and helped with the Bingo.
