Welcome to the official website for the Town of Union Bridge.
Union Bridge is located in the heart of the Piedmont Plateau on the western edge of Carroll County. The gently rolling terrain and meandering streams offer outstanding rural scenes at every turn in the road.
Settled as a farming community well before the Revolutionary War, Union Bridge was chartered by the Maryland General Assembly on May 2, 1872.
The town’s leading industries are the Lehigh Portland Cement Company and the Maryland Mid-land Railroad located on North Main Street.

Valve Bonnet Bolt
Replacement Project
The Town of Union Bridge, Maryland is soliciting proposals for the replacement of one hundred-eleven (111) worn valve bonnet bolts along the water line throughout the Town. The bid document is available on the "NOTICES" page of this website or by clicking on the title above. A copy can also be requested by contacting the Town Office at 410-775-2711. The deadline to submit bids is 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at the Town Office, located at 104 W. Locust Street, Union Bridge, MD 21791.

Meetings are held the 1st Thursday of every month at St. James Lutheran Church, Social Hall starting promptly at 6:00 pm.
(If the Thursday falls on a holiday, the meeting will be the following Thursday).

Commemorative Lapel Pins
The Town of Union Bridge is selling Commemorative Lapel Pins. The enamel pin with a magnetic backing, depicts the official Town Seal. You can purchase the pin at the Town Hall for the price of $5 each
Commemorative Token
The Town of Union Bridge is also selling the special 150th Year Commemorative Token for just $3 each. Get yours at the town office.
Military Street Banners
As a way to recognize those who have served in our armed forces, the Town of Union Bridge is proud to honor our local veterans by annually posting
“We Proudly Honor”
banners. Currently, there are a total of 58 banners proudly adorning our Main Street corridor. These banners allow our community and visitors to our town, see how proud we are of our communities men and women who have served our nation’s military service branches. The banners are placed on either our decorative light poles or telephone poles along Main Street from the middle of May to the middle of November. We offer the opportunity for family and friends to publicly honor veterans (alive or deceased) that have served our country in its times of need.
To obtain a banner at a cost of $105.00, an application must be completed. You can obtain an application at the town office during normal business hours OR click on the banner image above, print it out and bring it to the town office.
A copy of the service member's DD214 must be provided as proof of service as well as a clear photo of the service member when you submit your application.
Each banner that is posted along Main Street will proudly display your veterans name, service picture, branch of service, service era and service time.

NOTICE
The Union Bridge Town Planning & Zoning Commission is giving Notice that it is beginning the process of reviewing the Town Plan, adopted 2008, as amended through 2014, i.e. Union Bridge Community Comprehensive Plan. 2024 Carroll County MML Scholarship opportunity
The Carroll County Chapter of the Maryland Municipal League is pleased to offer three (3) $1,000 scholarships to Carroll County High School students who have been accepted into a College or University or Carroll County students currently enrolled in a College or University in a Graduate or Undergraduate program for the 2024-2025 school year. We are requesting that you share this scholarship opportunity with your students.
The application must be the 2024 Application Form and must be received at the Town of Hampstead Office by 4:00 p.m. on or before Friday, April 26, 2024.

Veteran Tribute
A tribute, 51 years overdue for a hometown Vietnam War hero, has been erected along Route 75 near Shepherds Mill Road, honoring his sacrifice for our country. Russell Milberry was drafted and arrived in Vietnam just 2 days before his 20th birthday and died just 5 days later. Visit the following link for more about Russell:

LIFELINE SERVICES
IN MARYLAND
Lifeline Awareness week is September 20-24, 2021. Lifeline is a federal program that helps limited income consumers pay for their telephone and internet services by providing a monthly discount. The cost of the program is shared by all telephone customers.
In Maryland the program is called Tel-Life.
Do I qualify for Lifeline services?
You are eligible for Lifeline if you or your dependent meet one of the below criteria:
· Earn 135% or less of the federal poverty limit
OR
· Participate in one of these programs:
o Food Supplemental Program (SNAP)
o Medicaid
o Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
o Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
o Veterans Pension or Survivors Pension
o Certain Tribal Programs
What services are covered by Lifeline?
You can apply Lifeline assistance to one of these options:
· Existing voice-fixed (home phone)
· Existing voice-mobile (cell phone)
· Standalone broadband internet
(mobile or fixed)
· Existing or new bundles of voice
