Chaplets

The Catholic Encyclopedia defines a "Chaplet" as being from the French word meaning wreath or crown, a set of beads strung together for counting prayers. This term is often used for the five-decade rosary (from rosarium, "rose-garden"), and is also applied to other devotions which use beads to count prayers or aspirations.

up Angelic Chaplet of St. Michael

Of all the many different chaplets, this is probably the most elaborate. It consists of nine groups of four beads each, consisting of three aves (Hail Mary's) and one pater (Our Father) in each. The nine groups are in honor of the nine choirs of angels.

This chaplet was given to a devout servant of God, Antonia d' Astonac, in an apparition of St. Michael. To all who should recite the nine salutations every day, before receiving Holy Communion, he promised that an angel of each of the nine choirs would be assigned to accompany them to the Holy Table. He also promised continual assistance during life, and after death, and the deliverance of souls of they and their relatives from the pains of Purgatory.

Dearest Mother
I Believe, that Jesus Christ, your Son is truly present in the Sacrament of the Most Holy Eucharist, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity. I Believe, that He is the, only begotten Son of God, Who became Man to save me, a sinner. By partaking of this Most Holy Sacrament, I profess:

That I believe in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church and that Her teachings and sacraments were instituted by Christ.

I profess:
That because this is truly His Precious Body and life giving Blood, to receive Him in the state of grace will bring healing to both my soul and body but knowingly receive Him in the state of mortal sin will bring my judgement and condemnation.

Dearest Virgin of Virgins, I declare these truths before You as my Witness, that You who are the great Mother of God, May remember me before my Lord and Master, now and at the hour of my death. Amen.

(repeat three times)
0 Mother of the Most Holy Eucharist, Pray for us.

Imprimatur: Most Reverend Lanies C. Timlin, D. D., Bishop of Scranton

* Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

* Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

* Pater (Our Father)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

* Ave (Hail Mary)
Hail Mary, full of grace; the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

* Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly to you O Virgin of virgins, my mother, To you I come; before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.
