The Gospel of Mark is the shortest of the four Gospels. It is only 16 chapters in length. Dated to between 70 and 80 A.D. it is likely that this was first Gospel written. Matthew
Most experts say that the Gospel of Matthew was written between 80 and 90 A.D. This is about 10 years after the Gospel of Mark and includes 600 of Mark's 661 verses.
