The Gospel of Mark is the shortest of the four Gospels. It is only 16 chapters in length. Dated to between 70 and 80 A.D. it is likely that this was first Gospel written. It is broken into the following four sections -- The Preparation for the Public Ministry of Jesus (Mar 1:1-13), The Mystery of Jesus (Mar 1:14-8:26), The Mystery Begins to Be Revealed (Mar 8:27-9:32), The Full Revelation of the Mystery (Mar 9:33-16:8).

Matthew
Most experts say that the Gospel of Matthew was written between 80 and 90 A.D. This is about 10 years after the Gospel of Mark and includes 600 of Mark's 661 verses.
