Numbers
The book of Numbers is a book of law and history. The name comes from the fact there are two censuses taken. The first is described in Chapter 1 and the second in Chapter 26. The book covers 38 years of the Israelite people wandering in the desert. However, it contains a fairly good coverage of laws as well. The three main sections are "Preparation and Departure from Sinai" - Chapters 1-10, "From Sinai to the Plain of Moab" - Chapters 10-22, and "On the Plains of Moab - Chapters 22-36.
