Zelinsky, Paul O. Rapunzel. New York: Dutton, 1997.
When Rapunzel was a little girl, she lived with the sorceress who cared for her. But when the beautiful girl turned twelve, the sorceress locked her up in a high, lonely tower. The only way of entrance was by climbing Rapunzel’s golden hair. When the king’s son overhears the sorceress, he repeats the words, “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair.” They fall in love, but soon, tragedy strikes. (MK) |
