Goble, Paul.  The Girl Who Loved Wild Horses.  New York: Bradbury, 1978. 

The girl understood horses as no one else could. She spoke softly to them, and they felt her words. When a violent storm frightened the horses into a stampede, the girl jumped onto the back of a horse.  The horses ran far away and became lost. The next morning, the girl saw the most beautiful wild horse she had ever seen.  (AB)
