1955 Caldecott
Perrault, Charles.  Cinderella, or the Little Glass Skipper.  Translated and Illustrated by Marcia Brown.  New York: Scribner, 1954.

Here is a story of Cinderella, complete with two wicked step-sisters, a fairy Godmother, and a handsome prince.  Our heroine is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. She is able to forgive her selfish sisters, even though they do some terrible things to her.  This version has been translated from the story told by Charles Perrault, a Frenchman. (AB)
