MacDonald, Golden.  The Little Island.  New York: Doubleday, 1946.

A kitten explores an island and wonders how such a small piece of land, surrounded by water, can be a part of the earth. The island and the fish explain how all land is one land under the sea.  But the island is also a land of it's own, a home for animals and insects and a place for trees to grow. (AB)
