Weekly Trash Collection

Trash is collected every Tuesday for Carroll County premises and every Friday for Frederick County premises. Trash should be put out in clear or translucent plastic bags. Trash should be put out by 6:30 a.m. on the day of pick-up. There is a 120 gallon weekly trash limit per premises. Trash service is performed by Key Sanitation at 301.668.8282.

Do not put recycling, yard waste, bulk items, tires, or hazardous materials with trash.

Hauler may reject trash placed out for pick up which contains any of these items.

Spring and Fall Cleanup

Twice a year, generally on the third Saturday in April and third Saturday in October, the Town holds a clean up day at the municipal parking lot in conjunction with the Jaycees and Boy Scouts. Town residents can drop off a variety of large household trash items for disposal at these events (also see Recycling page for information on metal recycling opportunities). Appliances and equipment in working or nearly-working condition can be dropped off for free give away. In the event no one wants these items, they will be recycled or disposed of with solid waste collected that clean-up day. Yard waste, mattresses, box springs, tires, and hazardous materials are not accepted. Materials can be dropped off from 8 AM until noon only when town staff and roll-off bins are present. Pick-ups of materials from your home can generally be arranged through the Jaycees or Scouts in exchange for a donation to these organizations. You can contact town hall for additional information prior to each event.
