Volunteer
There are different volunteer program
needs at the Humane Society of Carroll County:
- assisting with adoptions
- helping with special art projects
- designing bulletin boards
- performing data entry
- filing and other office duties
- using desktop publishing
- organizing events, such as "kitty socials"
- gardening
- walking dogs
- assisting in animal socialization
- taking pictures
- updating lost and found lists
- washing dogs
- socializing animals
- cleaning animal areas

Monday to Friday, 8:00a.m.- 4:00p.m
Volunteer Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Sign a release
- Attend a volunteer orientation
- Complete required training
- Be a team player
- Follow directions from staff
- Complete a volunteer application
Health Insurance
All volunteers will be required to provide
their own medical insurance. Proof of coverage must be shown prior to
recruitment. If you have no insurance - a waiver must be signed.
We will not be responsible for any accidents or
injuries while you are volunteering.
Volunteer Training
Staff members will provide training.
This training will provide the volunteer with information to help you
in your area of interest. All volunteers will be on a six month probationary
period.
Meetings and Orientation
Volunteer orientations will be held to
provide future volunteers a broad overview of Humane Society programs
and policies and expectations.
