Meet the Staff

Carolyn "Nicky" Ratliff

I started my career in Animal Welfare in 1972 and I have been Executive Director here at The Humane Society of Carroll County since June of 1982. Over the past 35 years I have had the good fortune of being able to work along side of some of the most dedicated and genuinely decent people imaginable. Being of service to the citizens of Carroll County as well as their animals gives me great personal pleasure and much satisfaction. This has been my Dream job and I love it!

Rosemary "Ro" Wills

I've been with the Carroll County Humane Society since August of 2000. I am the Animal Care Supervisor. I'm very dedicated to my job and I know my staff can rely on me. I've been a Carroll County resident for 35 years. I fully enjoy the work that I do and I plan on being here for a long time.

Thelma "TJ" Luckabaugh

Hi! I'm T.J. I have been part of the Carroll County Humane Society since March of 2002. I have a soft heart for the animals that come to our shelter. Since I am part of the Animal Care Staff, I have the opportunity to work with the animals. I really enjoy my work! It's great to see our animals be reunited with their families, OR be ADOPTED by a nice family, who will give their new pet the best love and care.

Victoria "Vicki" Macek

Hello I'm Vicki. I have been a part of the Carroll County Humane Society's family since July of 2004. My position here is animal caretaker/office assistant. I enjoy interacting with the animals and finding them a nice home.

Lynn Campbell

Hi, I'm Lynn and I am part of the Animal Care Staff! I started here in January of 2005 and I really enjoy every day of my job. I get to work one on one with all the different animals that come to us. It's especially awesome when we find great homes for all the critters, cats and dogs!!

Linda Rinehart

Hi, I've been a part of the Humane Society since 1985. I am the Office Manager, but have worn "many hats" over the years. The opportunity to work with animals and animal related problems every day is very challenging and rewarding. Our staff is dedicated, competent and compassionate. The Humane Society of Carroll County is one of the finest facilities of its kind, and I am proud to be a part of it.

Jannie "Jane" Muller

Hi, my name is Jane. I started here in 1985 as an Animal Control Field Officer. I did that for 10 years. Since then I have relocated to the front office as a receptionist. Now my jobs are many. My main job is to enter dog license into our data base. I handle all lost and found reports and take animal related complaints over the phone for animal control. I also sign in animals as well as return animals to their owners. Most importantly I help educate the public in regards to animals.

Kelly Keiner

Hello. I am the Assistant Office Manager and Adoption Coordinator. I am responsible for making sure that everyone who adopts from the shelter gets their pets rabies shots and has them spayed or neutered. I also pickup the license that are sold throughout the county which is over 12,000 a year. I have been working at the shelter since January of 2003. I never imagined having a job that I truly enjoy coming to everyday. I love working with the animals and I have made many wonderful friendships.

Brian Rupp

Hi, I'm Brian Rupp, Chief Animal Control Officer. I've been with the Humane Society since April of 1988. I started as a field investigator to enforce county and state animal laws involving animal situations. For the past few years my duties are involved mostly in house working with the very capable staff and field officers. Here at the Humane Society all staff members truly do care about all animals. Please be kind to your pets.

Mark Miller

Hi, my name is Mark and I have been a Animal Control Officer since October of 1990. I got in this field because I enjoy working with people & animals. I believe someone needs to help these animals because they can't speak for themselves. Each day is a new challenge and at the end of the day, hopefully I have made a difference in someone's life.

George "Mike" Keiner

Hi! My name is Mike. I've been an Animal Control Officer since April of 2002. Since that time I've learned so much with the schooling and help from my peers. I hope to have a long career with The Humane Society. I really enjoy working with this fine group of individuals and I love educating the public on the laws of the county.

Karen Baker

I'm Karen and I started as an Animal Control Officer in January of 2007. I have been working with animals for most of my life, and am excited about my position here at the Humane Society. This is very fulfilling career for me because I am able to help animals and their owners on a daily basis. I plan on spending many more rewarding years with the Humane Society of Carroll County.

Kathy Wood

I work on Saturday mornings only. I have 2 cats, Cinder and Shadow, and two dogs. I am married and have two sons, Michael and Matt. I have been at the shelter for about 1 year now. I enjoy working at the Humane Society. I only wish I could take all the animals home.

Dan Loveless

I have been married for 30 years and have lived in Carroll County since retiring from the Army. I volunteer at St. Paul's Soup Kitchen as well as here at the shelter. I have been here since September of 2004 and enjoy it a great deal.

Marcia Klein

Hello. I have been volunteering at the Humane Society since 2000. I help out with paperwork in the office, and also record the stats on animals arriving here throughout the year. I thoroughly enjoy doing my small part for the organization, and I look forward to my weekly visits to the Humane Society.

By the way, I am not only a volunteer, but also the adopter of the best cat!
