Sweet Creek Holler

 

When Ginny was six years old, her daddy, a coal miner in West Virginia, was shot and killed.  Ginny, her sister, and her mother moved to a tar paper shack in Sweet Creek Holler where "the future was suspended...like stars in a black night."
