Jane Leslie Conly grew up on a farm next to the
Potomac River in Leesburg, Virginia. Both of her parents were writers.
Her father wrote Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH, which won the
Newbery Award. Now, Jane and her husband and their two children live
in Baltimore, Maryland. Jane's first book continues her father's
fantasy about the intelligent rats in Thorn Valley.
