Performing Opportunities at the Carroll Arts Center The vast majority of shows on stage at the Carroll Arts Center are the result of local artists and cultural organizations renting the facility to produce their own shows. For a very modest hourly fee, our renters enjoy a state-of-the-art facility, trained professional staff and marketing support. And, 100% of the ticket income goes directly to the performer! We suggest reserving dates at least 6 months in advance as dates fill up very quickly.
The Carroll County Arts Council occasionally presents talent and genres that complement the schedule of offerings provided by our renters. The Arts Council typically books no more than 4-6 acts per year. The remainder of Music acts presented at the Center are rentals.
To be considered for these opportunities, interested performers should submit:
· Professional quality recording (CD, VHS or DVD) recorded w/in the last 2 years. Approximately 5-7 minutes will be reviewed by committee, so please note track(s) you would like sampled. · Performance vita (where and when you have performed, what type of venues, avg. ticket prices, bios and/or press packet, etc.) · Technical requirements (what sound, lights, set pieces, technical support personnel, etc. would be necessary for your performance) · Financial stipend (amount of compensation you would require for a 1-hour set, and a 2-hour set with intermission) · Other compensation (travel stipend, lodging, meals, or any other fees or services you would require) · Promotional assistance (what support you would provide in selling tickets, distributing posters and marketing the event)
The Performing Arts Review Committee consists of 4-6 Arts Council Board Members, Staff and Audience Patrons. They meet quarterly to review performers’ submissions.
Deadline for Submissions: September 1 (for shows January through June) December 1 (for shows April through September) April 1 (for shows July through December) July 1 (for shows November through March)

You will receive a response, in writing, within 30 days after deadline. Only performers who submit all the required information by mail will be considered. Please submit a SASE if you want your items returned. |
