Fall Schedule
Open Studio with Model No instructor 10 Thursdays Beginning September 4 7:00-10:00 pm $120/$100 Members Drop in Fee-$20/session This is an ongoing class This open studio is for artists of all drawing levels from beginner to professional who are interested in drawing from a live model without an instructor. Participants can use various media from basic pencil to watercolor and acrylic. Please bring your own easel, tray table, paper, paint, etc.
Painting in Oils & Acrylics, Beyond Theory: Understanding Color Inside and Out Instructor: Sarah Abel DeLuca 4 Saturdays beginning October 4 11:30 am-1:30 pm Ages 14+ $50/$45 members This class will appeal to the basic beginner as well as the advanced painter. Learn to use color in four sessions like you have never used it before. Beginning with a limited palette of oil or acrylic, to a final project with a full range palette, Sarah, with her enthusiasm and ability with oil, will have participants wanting to paint more. Drawing in Charcoal and Pastel Instructor: Holly Ferrar 4 Mondays Beginning October 6 6:00-8:00 pm $50/$45 members Charcoal and pastel are not as difficult as you think. In this class students will learn basic application and techniques of the media then with some guided instruction, can embark on still life, portraiture, landscape or abstractions. Supply list will be sent.
Drawing for Beginners Canceled for lack of enrolment Instructor: Vladimir Tzenov 4 Tuesdays beginning October 7 6:30-8:00 pm $43/$38 members Anyone can draw. You just need someone to bring out your potential. This class will be taught from a step- by -step approach to construct forms, shapes, objects and the ultimate composition. Supply list will be sent.
Intermediate Drawing: The Still Life Canceled for lack of enrolment Instructor: Karen Trimble 5 Thursdays Beginning October 2 7:15-9:15 pm $63/$57 members Everyone loves a 17th C. Dutch still life. This class works with the basic principles of observational drawing techniques to compose and complete a still life in charcoal. The class will work from still life objects in charcoal concentrating on perspective, value and accuracy. All the skills learned in this class can be translated into any painting medium. The Process of Creative Painting Canceled for lack of enrolment Instructor: Peggy Hyatt 2 Wednesdays Beginning October 8 7:00-10:00 pm $41/$36 members Try your hand at gouache, watercolor, acrylic, oil and latex house paint to find the ease and joy of simply doing and experimenting. Butcher paper, construction paper, canvas and cloth are just a few of the materials that make excellent supports. Each of these painting media has a different way of application and appeal. Some can be used together with ease. Others resist each other for brand new horizons Supply list will be sent.
The Process of Creative Drawing Canceled for lack of enrolment Instructor: Peggy Hyatt 2 Wednesdays Beginning October 8 7:00-10:00 pm $41/$36 members Have you been wondering what to do with that drawer full of left over art supplies? This class unleashes the creative bounds of a myriad of drawing materials. Discover a wide range of techniques with pastel, oil pastel, conte crayon, charcoal, colored pencils, marker and pen. This class is for a beginner or an old hand. Concepts as well as objects will be explored as subject matter. Supply list will be sent.
Workshops
Wool Felting: Felted Paperweight Instructor: Nancy Schmitt Monday, October 6 7:00-10:00 pm $31/$26 members In this workshop you will learn to make felt – the ancient process of meshing fibers together using water, friction and heat. Beginner students will create a one-of-a-kind felt paperweight ball approximately 4” diameter using merino wool and added embellishments. Take home a completed project that will surely garner only positive comments!

Collage Workshop Canceled for lack of enrolment Instructor: Allan Potter Monday, October 20 6:00-9:00 pm Instructor: Allan Potter $31/$26 members Snip, tear, rip, glue and glisten! Learn to create a composition, use a mix of mediums, layering techniques, and more.
Polymer Clay 101: Create a Frame or Mirror Canceled for lack of enrolment Instructor: Cynthia Beljan Fri. Sept. 26 and Fri. October 3 6:00-10:00 pm $50/$45 members $15 supply fee payable to the instructor This class introduces the students to the wonders of polymer clay with an information packed hands-on workshop for discovering essentials for success with polymer clay. Learn about different brands, color facts, must have tools and many important techniques such as caning, skinner blends, textures and more. You will feel more prepared to take more polymer clay classes.
Winter adult classes will be cancelled for snow only if Carroll County Government offices are closed.
