Summer Camps
2008 Summer Camp Schedule
Art Adventures Ages 7 – 11 Session A: June 23 – 27 10:00am - 3:00pm Camp Director: Susan Williamson $140 Members/$160 Non-Members Adventures in art await you with this full day of cultural activities including arts and crafts led by several working artists from our community, field trips to the Baltimore Museum of Art and Frederick’s acclaimed arts district, special movies, performances and more! Lots of great “make-it-and-take-it” projects to satisfy the creative spirit. Tuition includes t-shirt, snacks, supplies, and field trips. Campers need to bring a non-perishable lunch.
Fun Company Theatre Camp Ages 9 – 13 Session B: July 14 – 25 10:00am - 3:00pm $265-Members/$285 Non-Members Camp Director: Julie Herber The first week of this in-depth theatre experience will focus on stage fundamentals such as developing characters, acting techniques, costumes, make-up, props, voice and movement. The second week will find campers preparing for the “final show,” that is open to the public. The Fun Company is part of the Maryland Ensemble Theatre. Tuition includes t-shirt, snacks, supplies, most costumes, props and of course, the cast “pizza party” on July 25. Campers should bring a non-perishable lunch.
Creative Kids Camp Ages 5* – 7 Session C: July 28 – Aug 1 9:30am - 12:30pm Session D: Aug 4 – 8 9:30am - 12:30pm Camp Director: Sandy Oxx $90 Members/$110 Non-Members Our youngest campers will get a taste of all aspects of the visual and performing arts through sing-a-longs, arts & crafts, drama activities, special guests, movies and gallery games. Popsicles, face-painting and walks to the park round out a week of fun that culminates in a performance for parents and premiere of our camp “movie.” Tuition includes t-shirt, snacks, art supplies and a copy of the camp movie (dvd format.) * We suggest that campers have completed kindergarten before enrolling in this camp
Circus Stars Mini-Camp Ages 8 - 15 Wednesday, July 2 10:00am – 3:00pm $50 Members/$60 Non-Members The morning will start with a live performance by acclaimed circus performer Michael Rosman. After a quick lunch with fellow campers, Michael and several other performers will introduce campers to the circus arts such as juggling, unicycle, plate spinning, magic tricks and clown comedy. It will be a high-energy day packed with lots of physical activity and fun.
