  • Gospel - (Ask for a blessing from the Celebrant)

    Deacon: Father, give me your blessing.

    Priest: The Lord be in your heart and on your lips that you may worthily proclaim the gospel. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

    Deacon: Amen.

    Deacon: The Lord be with you.

    People answer: And Also with you.

    Deacon: A reading from the holy Gospel according to N.
          (Make the sign of the Cross on the book and then the forehead, lips and breast)

    People answer: Glory to you, Lord.

  • Read the Gospel

    Deacon: The Gospel of the Lord

    People answer: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

    Deacon: May the words of the Gospel wipe away our sins.
          (Said inaudibly while kissing the book)

  • Homily (When scheduled)

  • Prepare the Altar

  • Offertory - Accept gifts from priest

  • Mix the Water and Wine
    Deacon (Inaudibly): By the mystery of this water and wine may we come to share in the divinity of Christ, who humbled himself to share in our humanity.

  • Raise chalice at Doxology

  • Sign of Peace
    Deacon: Let us offer each other a sign of Christ's peace.

  • Invitation to Final Blessing
    Deacon: Bow your heads and Pray for God's blessing.

  • Dismissal
    Deacon: The Mass has ended, go in peace to love and serve the Lord.
